TIMBER: The property includes a mixture of hardwood and cedar trees along with crops and planted CRP land. The property was probably cut for timber approximately ten to fifteen years ago.
CROPS/LEASE: The bottomland is in row crops and planted trees, with 68.8 acres in the CRP program and 213.2 acres in the Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program. Of the DCC land, 125.8 acres is currently in soybeans and leased at one-fourth of the proceeds from the sale of the beans, less fertilizer, and one-fourth of DCC payments. Owner's share of all 2008 DCC payments was $4,135. The soil is very fertile with yields ranging as high as fifty bushels an acre for the soybeans in certain areas. The land has also been planted in corn in years past with very high yields per acre.
From Tupelo take Natchez Trace Parkway south 15-17 miles. Exit onto Hwy 41 then turn right toward Okolona (Southeast) prperty on left approximatly 3 miles.
