This historic ranch is located in Southern Edwards County, in the heart of the Nueces Canyon and is blessed with one of the strongest live water creeks in Texas. The ranch features Cedar Creek, a strong year- round constant flow stream that runs through the rich fertile bottom land. It has huge native pecans, large live oaks and elm trees throughout the expansive valleys on this exceptional ranch.

The ranch was originally purchased by Erhard Guenther during the early 1900’s. He bought land from settlers that arrived into the region following the Civil War and put this ranch together one piece at a time. He purchased the majority of the watershed for Cedar Creek, Blue Creek and Spring Creek thus protecting the spring sources and creek flow for generations to come.

The ranch can only be described as “One of a Kind”.   From the stories of pioneers settling in the Cedar Creek Valley in the 19th century, to the amazing native Indian sites, geological features, subterranean caves and sink holes, this ranch is unique. It is a fossil and arrowhead hunters dream. Pinon Pines are scattered in the higher elevations along with huge virgin cedar stands which add to the scenic views from the abundant mountain tops. This ranch is a convenient 2 1/2 hour drive from San Antonio, Texas with the front gate only 1 1/2 miles down a maintained county road from a paved state highway. There are numerous old settlements scattered throughout the ranch. And these structures are awaiting restorations (see Winan's Cabin pictures below).

The ranch is not high fenced, although there is a short stretch of high fence along the southwest border of the ranch. The fencing is considered to be from good to poor condition over the ranch.   There is no fencing along the county road. The ranch has 2 water wells. The water well located north of the county road is equipped with a submersible pump. The well south of the county road is a hand dug water well. The ground water depth is reported to be about 350 feet deep to quality well water. There are numerous flowing springs on this ranch. The 2,300' airstrip is in good condition and is located in the central valley south of the county road. There are also creek water diversion and pumping rights associated with Cedar Creek that will convey in a specific portion of the ranch.

The ranch is teeming with wildlife including whitetail deer, axis, aoudad sheep, Rio Grande turkey, wild boar and varmints. The hunting is excellent and photo opportunities are everywhere.

This ranch is offered with some minerals and some state classified minerals. There will be a survey completed soon and it will be available to qualified buyers. The county road separates the south 6,400 +- acres from the north 2,215 +- acres. The county road is approximately 8.7 miles in length along the north side of the south 6,400 acre portion and about 3.4 miles of county road boundary along the north 2,215 +- acres.
