The nearby Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone River is an outstanding recreational area, nationally designated a Blue Ribbon Trout Fishery, as well as a Wild & Scenic River. Yellowstone National Park lies just 32 miles over the Absaroka Mountain Range. The Clarks Fork Community has a volunteer fire department, recreation center, schools, a convenience store and County land fill.

The county maintains the road up to the Forest Service boundary. The Ranch is accessed via Wyoming State Highway 120 to Park County Road 1AB, to 8YC to 8RA and from there to the Ranch. Although the Ranch enjoys a remote area, it is conveniently located approximately 38 miles from Cody, 30 miles from Powell, 40 miles from Red Lodge and 85 miles from Billings, Montana.
