Price Reduced! Upper Michigan Cozy Cabin For Sale! This One-Bedroom Cabin is located on a 1+ Acre wooded parcel near picturesque Rabbit Bay, which is located in Torch Lake Township, in north-eastern Houghton County. This could be your affordable "Starting Out" spot for outdoor recreation in every direction... Just a half-mile down the road is pristine Lake Superior. Although all of the Lake Superior Shoreline in Rabbit Bay is private property, just 6.6 miles to the south is White City, Michigan. In the early 1900's White City was a summer resort with hotel-restaurant-saloon, amusement park with roller coaster and merry-go-round, rental cottages, dance pavilion, bandstand and a 75 foot steamer dock. Excursion boats ran several times a day from the Houghton/Hancock area. Today there is a Township Park there for picnicing, fishing, and swimming on the sandy shores of Lake Superior. There is a boat launch nearby just 1 mile south of Jacobsville. It has a hard-surface ramp with sufficient water depth and lake size to accommodate all trailerable watercraft. The site is signed. Toilets available. 20 parking spaces available at the access site. From the shoreline of Rabbit Bay are views of Rabbit Island and the Huron Mountains in the distance. Labeled on maps as Traverse Island, Rabbit Island is a 90-Acre remote forested, rocky island about three miles off shore. Flowing into the nearby small harbor of Rabbit Bay is Lahti Creek, a Blue Ribbon trout stream. You can fresh water fish here, off-shore, or arrange for a Lake Superior charter fishing trip with locals in the area. Silent sports enthusiasts love this area for its hiking, cycling, and mountain biking. There are miles of quiet backwoods low-traffic forest roads to explore! A short spin through the area might provide sightings of Great Blue Herons, Bald eagles, Loons, Sandhill cranes, Whitetail deer, Black bear, Wolves, as well as of the old copper mining towns in this historic area. Spring time provides wild flower viewing, Summer provides feasts of wild berries to pick, and during the Fall color season this area is spectacular. Hunting of big and small game is also available in the area. Copper Harbor is about a half hour drive away, and Mount Bohemia Extreme Ski Hill, the largest vertical drop in the United States is in nearby LacLaBelle. For less challenging downhill skiing you can go to Mount Ripley near Hancock. There are also great groomed Cross Country ski trails in Copper Harbor and Swedetown. Snowmobiling is great in this area, which has record snow fall depths each year! The well maintained cabin has many updates, which include interior updates of the Stove, Refrigerator, and Plumbing (Shower, Toilet). Exterior improvements include replacement of the Roof, Entry Deck, Drilled Well, Septic and Drain field. The cabin is heated with a Wood Stove and Wall hung Space Heater. Come and enjoy Michigan's Upper Peninsula Wonders! MLS# 1079925
