Bear Creek Lodge is a profitable hospitality operation nestled in a private mountain setting northwest of McCall, Idaho. This mountain retreat sits on over 65 acres of beautifully manicured grounds bordered by the Payette National Forest.
Bear Creek Lodge is ideal for hosting special events such as conferences, weddings, corporate retreats or reunions. The lodge offers variety of accommodations for its guests. Visitors can choose to either stay in the main lodge, one of the duplex style cabins or in the private guest house.
The focal point of the property is the expansive rustic lodge which provides approximately 8170 square feet of lodging, a restaurant facility and resort amenities. Besides the inviting lobby, the lodge contains a spacious common area perfect for large gatherings. This common area includes a great room with a floor to ceiling fireplace, vaulted ceilings and access to the back patio. Just off of the great room is the dining area and bar, where guests can take in the beautiful mountain views while enjoying a meal. On the main floor there is also a flex media room which can be used for private meetings. The second level of the lodge is utilized for additional dining and recreation activities. This lounge area is furnished with a pool table, library and games.
Another perk to the main lodge is its fully equipped commercial kitchen which was designed to operate a gourmet restaurant. The kitchen equipment is comprised of a double 6 burner Wolf range oven, a Wolf flat grill, a barbeque grill, deep fryer, proofing oven, ice machine, two large under counter refrigerators, a walk-in cooler, a walk-in freezer, stainless steel prep tables and more. All of the restaurant linens, utensils and catering supplies are also included.
The rear patio runs along almost the full length of the building. Each of the 9 guest rooms open out onto the patio so guests can enjoy the amazing views of the surrounding forest and meadows. There are 8 standard lodge rooms each of which feature a gas fireplace, full bath with slate floors, a mini refrigerator, coffee maker and microwave. One of these rooms is ADA designated. There is also one suite which highlights a king sized bed, a living room, fireplace and full bathroom with slate floors.
For guests that desire more privacy, there are two duplex style cabins north of the main lodge. Each cabin is approximately 770 square feet and has two guest rooms. These rooms are equipped with a gas fireplace, bathroom with slate floors, Jacuzzi tub, mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. There are building permits to construct two more of these stand-alone cabins.
The private guest house south of the main lodge is great for housing a large party. The 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom home provides 1,772 square feet of living space and was designed by Lindal Cedar Homes. This residence highlights a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, cedar cabinets, a formal dining room, vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan. The relaxing great room with a fireplace displays pristine views of Brundage Mountain through its large picture windows. It also exhibits a dramatic spiral staircase which leads to the second floor master suite. Off of the master bedroom is the master bathroom with a large soaker tub. Lodgers who book this house also get to enjoy soaking in the hot tub on the private Trex deck.
Besides the appealing guest accommodations, Bear Creek Lodge also provides living quarters for an on-site care taker or manager. This residence is approximately 1440 square feet with three bedrooms, one bathroom, a Jacuzzi tub, a full kitchen with cherry cabinetry and a wood stove. This building also contains a commercial laundry facility. If one was looking to expand, the caretaker residence could be converted into additional rental space.
The expansive acreage and location enhances the lodge visitor’s experience. The grounds feature amenities such as the large stocked trout pond, gazebo, horseshoe pits, hot tub, putting golf green and picnic tables. For those that love the outdoors, you can’t find a location much more ideal. Bear Creek is the closest commercial lodging to Brundage Mountain Ski Resort so the avid skiers are only 5 miles from the slopes. In fact, the property is directly across the highway from the road entrance to Brundage. Miles of hiking, biking, horseback riding and snowmobile trails can be directly accessed from the property. Lodgers do not have to hassle with finding parking or loading up their equipment. Ample parking is available for not only a full roster of guests, but also for large events with enough space to allow for snowmobile and horse trailers.
The property has easy prominent access off of Highway 55 and is approximately 4 miles from downtown McCall, Idaho. McCall is a resort town that sits along the banks of Payette Lake. It is an outdoor recreational hot-spot especially for many residents from the Boise metro area who are looking for a weekend escape. Besides Brundage Mountain, McCall is also central to both the Little Ski Hill and Tamarack Resort thus making McCall known for its winter recreation. Visitors and residents enjoy activities such as Nordic skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and tubing. In fact, one of the its most vibrant events is the annual Winter Carnival held every January which exhibits intricate snow sculptures throughout the community. People also escape to this charming mountain town during the summer months to enjoy activities such as river rafting, kayaking, fishing, boating, jet skiing, camping, hiking or soaking in the one of the area’s natural hot springs. The spectacular mountain scenery and lake views can be appreciated from downtown McCall but for a more intimate and unspoiled view, many like to visit Ponderosa State Park. This public park is just on the northern outskirts of town and offers hiking trails, camping sites and beaches along the Payette Lake. Approximately 1 hour north of Bear Creek Lodge is Riggins, Idaho known for its excellent Steelhead and Salmon fishing. Riggins is also the gateway to the scenic Hells Canyon Recreation Area.
