Michigan Waterfront Resort for sale! This property is located in Emmet County, which is at the top north-west of the Michigan "Mitten" (the Lower Peninsula). The Pines of Paradise Resort has a 1.4-Acre wooded parcel with 224 +/- feet of frontage on beautiful Paradise Lake. (Some websites call this Lake Paradise.) This 1900-acre, 18 foot deep lake has been home to cottage owners and yearly visitors since early in the 20th century. Generations of families come every summer to teach the youngsters to swim because of its shallow sandy bottom. With about 10 miles of shoreline, this lake has cottages, resort camps, year-round homes, and three Preserve Areas. Waterskiing, tubing and jet skis, and sailboards are popular among the younger crowd, with sailboats and pontoons preferred by older visitors. Two marinas which offer public access are located along the west end of the lake. Paradise Lake waters are known for fishing summer and winter - for Large and Smallmouth bass, Northern pike, Pumpkinseed sunfish, Black bass, Rock bass, Smallmouth bass, Carp, Walleye, and Yellow perch. Annual Fishing Tournaments are held on the lake! This resort is located in a tourist mecca, with many popular destinations in every direction from this resort! Less than 6 miles to the north, the 'Mighty Mackinaw' Bridge carries vehicles to the Upper Peninsula! Many people who visit Mackinaw City often find less expensive lodgings around the Paradise Lake area. Area non-water sports include biking, hiking, horseback riding, birding, and wildlife viewing. Whitetail deer, black bear, and wild turkeys are often sighted. Bald eagles and loons live at this lake. At Mackinaw City, is the restored Fort Michilimackinac Historical Park and the Old Mackinac Point Light. Mackinac island is a short ferry ride away, with the Grand Hotel and horse-drawn transportation. About five miles to the west is the Lake Michigan shoreline, and Wilderness State Park nature trails. Harbor Springs, a deep water port, and Petosky are about a half-hour away. Well-known ski resorts in northern Michigan are about an hour away. Casinos are just over the bridge in St. Ignace. Groomed snowmobile trails cross near Paradise Lake, and there are local trails for snow-shoeing, cross-country skiing and mountain biking. The village of Carp Lake has services, restaurants and pubs to visit. The Resort has a Main Home/Office, and 8 Cabins that all include full kitchens with stove, refrigerator, cooking and dinner ware, and private baths.
