Visit the historic downtown Gordon brick district. The buildings were built around 1900 and today house several modern businesses. Gordon is home to the oldest operating Ford dealership in Texas, which began in 1910. Other town businesses include a bank, cafe, clinic, hardware store, clothing resale shop, graphic design and print shop, and bakery (just to name a few).
Lake Palo Pinto
Breathtaking Lake Palo Pinto is on Palo Pinto Creek in the Brazos River basin eight miles northeast of Gordon. The lake was officially opened on November 13, 1965 and has a surface area of 2,661 acres. The drainage area above the dam is 471 square miles. The lake is surrounded by very large hills and a scenic drive. Lake Palo Pinto is a great recreational spot for water sports as well as fishing.
From Fort Worth, take I-20 West to the 374 Exit, go right on FM 193 for 2.5 miles.
