Cathedral Peak is located directly in a winter elk/mule deer migration route. Elk and Mule Deer migrate from the Black Mesa National Forest through the property down to lower areas of the Black Canyon and Green Mountain. Hunters have an excellent opportunity harvesting trophy animals migrating to their winter range. GMU 63 is known for excellent elk, mule deer, and bear hunting. Two-hundred class mule deer migrate through the area to the protection of the Black Canyon National Park (no hunting is allowed in the Park). Endless hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing and exploring experiences are located minutes from this property in the Gunnison National Forest, West Elk Wilderness, Black Canyon National Park, Blue Mesa Reservoir, Gunnison River and Crawford Reservoir. Cattlemen's Creek runs through the property with seasonal water flow most years, providing fishing opportunities for native brook trout. Crystal Creek is located 1/4 mile from the property with more opportunities for trout fishing. World Class trout fishing is minutes away in the bottom of the Black Canyon in the Gunnison River or you can enjoy boating and fishing on Colorado's largest body of water - Blue Mesa Reservoir.
