84.24 acres of private property, no HOA, with a spring-fed pond, 1 domestic water wells, completely perimeter fenced and with a locked access gate. The land is mostly lush rich grass and water, the exact ground the big bull elk love to move around on. Approximately a 1/4 of the land is heavily timbered on a north-facing slope with game trails winding through the dense forest. The large elk tracks and other signs of life are abundant. What a beautiful location for a full-time home or just a place to summer with your horses and stay through hunting season. Electricity is off the land to the north and west, on power poles, and could be brought to the land with relative ease. Mountain views are huge on the lower portion of the land but can be found in other locations. No neighbors, good ground, fully fenced, a well, pond, privacy and views.
The property boasts a brand new road into the property and up to an amazing building site. The owner has spared not expence with this beautiful and very useful addition to the Landing!
Westcliffe and Silver Cliff are located in the Wet Mountain Valley, Custer County, at approximately 8000 feet. The two towns are bordered on the west by the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains that ascend to 14,000 feet on some peaks, and the rolling Wet Mountains to the east. The Collegiate Peaks can be seen in the north along with Pikes Peak, and the Spanish Peaks can be seen to the south. The Wet Mountain Valley is famous for its unparalleled views, rural-ranching lifestyle, and endless miles of wilderness hiking trails through high-mountain meadows bursting with wildflowers and over 40 high-mountain lakes for fly-fishing.
The Ute Indians were attracted to the Wet Mountain Valley by the plentiful water and abundant game. In the mid 1500’s Spanish explorers entered the western edge of Custer County in search of gold, silver and the fountain of youth. Over three hundred years later Europeans finally found the precious metals they sought, however, we are still looking for the fountain of youth.
Westcliffe is an easy 3-hour drive from Denver, 1.5 hour drive from Colorado Springs, and 45 minutes from Canon City, Salida and Pueblo.
From Westcliffe, take Hwy 96 east to CR 281, make a left and travel north to the Y, stay left and travel back to the west and look for a two-track coming off the left hand side, BEFORE you come to a home. Take the two track to the gate.
