Conecuh County sets public hearing on 5100 acre landfill

After four years of public debate about a proposed 5,100-acre landfill in rural Conecuh County, commissioners on Monday confirmed that the formal application was made and set a public hearing on March 10 at Reid State Technical College. January 25, 2011 Montgomery attorney Al Agricola told commissioners at a regular meeting Monday that Conecuh Woods LLC made its formal application on Friday, and the county’s solid waste plan outlines several steps before a vote on the application occurs.
