County plans to auction land

The Lauderdale County Commission is moving forward with selling more than 190 acres of property in the Underwood community. March 11, 2011 Commission Chairman Dewey Mitchell said he has been in contact with Florence-based King Realty and Auction Co. about the property and the prospect of auctioning it. “I have gotten Mr. King a survey of the property, and they’ve been on the site looking over it,” Mitchell said. “He will be submitting us a proposal very shortly.”
