Purchase of 592 acres of desert brings Phoenixs Sonoran Preserve up to 7500 acres

The city of Phoenix bought 592 acres of desert this week to add to the Sonoran Preserve in the northern part of the city. December 02, 2011 The purchase of the State Land Trust property south of Happy Valley Road around 24th Street brings the total size of the preserve up to 7,500 acres.
