Lagoon group purchases long awaited Gateway property

The San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy, a nonprofit land trust organization, has purchased a long-sought piece of coastal property at the north entrance of Solana Beach and plans to preserve the prime coastal blufftop site. Escrow closed Wednesday night on the $3.75 million deal, which the conservancy put together after a bank acquired the property in a foreclosure proceeding.
