Tejon Ranch sells 46 acres to Caterpillar for distribution center new jobs expected

In a deal expected to provide 100 to 150 new local jobs, Tejon Ranch Co. announced Monday that it has sold 46 acres to a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc. for the development of a 400,000-square-foot parts distribution center at the junction of Interstate 5 and Highway 99. November 07, 2011 The transaction furthers Lebec-based Tejon Ranch's hopes of establishing a major logistics hub near the foot of the Grapevine. Peoria, Ill.-based Caterpillar said in a news release that the purchase, part of a multiyear expansion of its global parts distribution network, allows it to serve its customers better than any of its competitors.
