Woodland buys new land

The Woodland City Council agreed unanimously Tuesday to purchase a 22-acre piece of farmland for less than a hundredth of its appraised cost. The land, identified in staff reports as APN 027-852-005, is located south of Interstate 5, east of Costco and just east of the Woodland city limits. Under the terms of the agreement, the city would pay just $1,000 -- though the property itself was recently assessed at $300,000. September 08, 2011
