1.2 acres on West Alameda slated for park

Denver Parks and Recreation has received $175,000 in federal funds for a 1.2-acre park in the Westwood neighborhood. November 29, 2011 The park, planned at 3800 W. Alameda Ave., would be the first park built in west Denver in more than two decades. David Marquardt, senior landscape architect for Parks and Recreation, said the city is considering reallocating $500,000 in Better Denver bond funds to the project. The funds had been slated for an expansion of Barnum Park near Federal Boulevard and West Eighth Avenue.
