Conn. environmental dept. and conservancy buy 16 acre Stonington coastal land for conservation

A 16-acre swatch of coastal property in Stonington has been secured for a wildlife conservation area, officials said Monday. July 25, 2011 Connecticut's environmental department said the land, purchased for $1.5 million, will help protect grassland birds such as the bobolink and saltmarsh sparrow.
