Cromwell Accidentally Sold State Owned Land

A Rocky Hill developer is requesting that the town provide a refund for land it sold to the developer in 2009 after it was discovered earlier this year that at least a portion is deeded to the state Department of Transportation. August 07, 2011 DOT spokesman Kevin Nursick said the state conducted a project in that area, near Route 9 and North Road, in 1985. "We have property rights or easement rights when we need to perform big projects," Nursick said. "I think in that area we took something like 10 acres."
