Old Lyme approves $31.65M budget purchase of 82 acres

Residents voted unanimously Monday to both adopt a $31,659,433 budget for the 2011-12 year and buy an 82-acre parcel of land for open space conservation off Whippoorwill Road for $810,000. The budget includes a $8,373,925 general government budget, which is 0.1 percent less than the current budget, and a $23,285,508 school budget, which is 2.49 percent more than this year's school spending plan. Old Lyme assumes about 80 percent of the cost of running the Lyme-Old Lyme school district. May 17, 2011
