Sacred Heart convent purchases 110 acres

The sloping grounds off King Street have been home to Convent of the Sacred Heart for more than 65 years. Recently, the independent Catholic girls' school achieved a long-awaited milestone when it acquired the deed for the 110 acres on which the campus is located from the Society of the Sacred Heart, which opened the school in 1945. Along with the deed, the school also acquired 60 additional acres, beyond the 50 it already controls, for $9 million.
