Saving A Farm In New Milford

The Town Council has authorized Mayor Patricia Murphy to act on the town’s behalf in partnering with the state in the proposed joint acquisition of development rights for the Davenport Farm, located on Ridge and Creamery roads in town. January 13, 2011 Almost $1 Million The agreed-upon price is $996,457.44 for the 92.06-acre farm, according to the state Department of Agriculture. The state’s contribution, at $7.577 per acre, will be $697,538.62, and the town’s is $3,247 per acre, or $298,918,82.
