The 2008 Ag Tour in Collier County is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The tour gives the public an opportunity to visit private farm lands, watch harvest operations and see harvesting equipment up close.

The Collier County University Extension Department hosts the tour every year. The event includes a roasted chicken lunch at Roberts Ranch Museum, a historical attraction in Immokalee, and a presentation about the Seminole Tribe.

There will be stops at the Immokalee Produce Center, American Farms Nursery, the Southwest Florida Research & Education Center, produce fields, a citrus grove and a cattle ranch.

The cost is $55 per person. Tickets are limited and may be purchased at the Collier County University Extension Office at 14700 Immokalee Road, next to the fairgrounds. Tours start at 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.
