It will include a new canoe launch for the Chipola River, a nature trail running alongside the river, a 200-400 ft. boardwalk leading to the canoe launch, and a parking area for visitors to the new low-impact recreational site. It will also have crossings over streams and other wetlands on the 285-acre site. Home to beavers, deer and turkeys, birds and some rare or endangered plants, the site is expected to be one more jewel in Jackson County’s crown of ecotourism assets.
