Conservation land acquired in $9.6M buy

The St. Johns River Water Management District recently closed on the first of two land purchases east of here that its board approved earlier this year. June 03, 2011 The district paid Kemcho Investment Group LLC $9.6 million for 3,200 acres south of State Road 44, according to circuit court records. The property holds the headwaters for Deep Creek that flows south into the St. Johns River.
