Florida firm buys total of 1.28 million acres in major Nevada land deal

A Florida investment firm has bought 1.28 million acres of land and mineral rights — larger than Rhode Island — in pockets adjacent to Interstate 80 and the Union Pacific Railroad from east of Sparks to the Utah line. December 08, 2011 The $31 million deal, announced Thursday by CBRE Group, includes full ownership of 483,000 acres and mineral rights on another 800,000 acres for Fountain Investments Inc. of Miramar Beach, Fla.
