Homebuilder DiVosta scoops up prime 300 acre property in Jupiter

A prime swath of vacant land in Jupiter was sold last month to homebuilder Otto "Buz" DiVosta. The parcel, which contains nearly 300 acres and is the last large piece of undeveloped land in the town, is known as Parcel 19 and was owned by WCI Communities Inc. The land is on the northwest corner of Indiantown Road and Florida's Turnpike. Bonita Springs-based WCI bought Parcel 19 from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation in 1999. During the frenzy to attract the Scripps Research Institute to Palm Beach County five years ago, the prime land was touted as a potential site for the biotechnology park. County officials eventually settled on land further east in Jupiter.
