Indian River County to buy 350 acres at Blue Cypress Lake thanks to $1 million federal grant

A federal program to preserve wetlands allowed the County Commission on Tuesday to buy and protect 350 acres skirting the northwest shore of Blue Cypress Lake. August 16, 2011 "It's a different world out there," said Matt Sexton, agent with the nonprofit Conservation Fund. "The whole shore is lined with cypress trees. And I've never seen as many ospreys as I did out there."
