U.S. Army buys up 13.5 acres in Palm Beach County

New development, and hopefully a new economic boost, is coming to a Palm Beach County community courtesy of the United States Military. August 04, 2011 The Army has just inked a deal to purchase a 13.5 acre parcel of land on the northeast corner of Congress Avenue and Silver Beach Road in Lake Park. The land deal is the largest of its kind in Palm Beach County in recent years. The buyer of the land is the U.S. military, according to local brokerage firm NAI/Merin Hunter Codman. Brokers said the Army is planning to build a 63,000 square foot training facility on this land.
