City purchases land for recreation

The City of Rockmart has purchased 16 acres of land, located on Industrial Road near the Nathan Dean Sports Complex, which will be used for recreation. Mayor Curtis Lewis has signed documents for the $150,000 property purchase from Professional Realty Group, Cartersville. Lewis said sports practice fields have become treasured assets.
