Countys greenspace grows to 1,500 acres

The county's greenspace holdings now top 1,500 acres with a new acquisition of land in northwest Cherokee. November 18, 2010 The county Board of Commissioners on Tuesday night approved the purchase of 541 acres on Yellow Creek Road near the Etowah River. The $1.1 million cost will be paid using park bond revenues. The land will be used as greenspace and will have a conservation easement from the Mountain Conservation Trust.
