Sherrods farm group buying plantation

Shirley and Charles Sherrod's farm organization, New Communities, Inc., is negotiating the purchase of a plantation in Dougherty Co. June 07, 2011 Shirley Sherrod confirmed to The Albany Herald this morning that New Communities, Inc., is in the process of purchasing Cypress Pond Plantation off Pretoria Road. Sources tell The Herald that the purchase price is in the neighborhood of $13 million. On two real estate websites, however, the property is listed as selling at $6.9 million.
