Audubon Society protects additional Prairie Ridge acreage

The Illinois Audubon Society has purchased 200 acres in Marion County, further protecting more than 30 threatened and endangered species occurring at Prairie Ridge State Natural Area. March 01, 2011 Made possible by grants from Grand Victoria and Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundations, the Maxine Loy Estate acquisition provides special protection to 12-Mile Prairie Natural Area Inventory Site, maintained by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources through a scenic easement with the Illinois Department of Transportation
