Despite higher prices farmland sales remain brisk

When veteran auctioneer Gordon Hannagan began marketing about 137 acres of farmland near the Champaign-Vermilion County Line, he knew that the sale would attract a number of buyers and that the land would fetch a good price because of its good soil, drainage and location. "I knew it was going to be good, but didn't think it'd be that good," he said about the price.
