Farmland prices continue to head upward

One of the fastest run-ups in Midwestern farmland prices in 30 years shows no signs of slowing, including already record-high prices in Illinois. March 18, 2011 A series of forecasts, including a statewide survey of farmland sale prices released Wednesday, point to a continued increase in the cost of farmland – even though prices for prime acreage rose as much as 22 percent in the Springfield area in the past year.
