Farmland prices jump by up to 18 percent

The price of farmland increased as much as 18 percent in the Springfield region in 2010, and the trend is expect to continue this year, according to a report released ahead of a farmland appraisers’ conference next week. July 15, 2011 In Sangamon County, there were nine sales of more than $8,000 an acre last year, including one in December at $10,250 an acre for 183 acres.
