Foresters advance $1.9M land buy

Lake County Forest Preserve officials kicked off 2011 with a land acquisition vote Monday, but this year won’t be the boom year that 2010 was for purchasing open land. January 04, 2011 The Forest Board’s Land Preservation and Acquisition Committee voted to purchase a 40-acre addition to the Prairie Stream Forest Preserve in Antioch Township for $1.9 million, an action that is expected to be approved by the full board later this month.
