Council delays vote on 14 acre North of South project

A proposal to use city-issued bonds to help finance a $155 million development has sparked controversy for the risk to taxpayers, but that debate isn't what led the City-County Council to call off a vote on the plan Monday. February 07, 2011 The council unanimously voted to hold a new committee hearing on the North of South project because the one held last week had lacked the required 48-hour public notice. That meant the Economic Development Committee meeting -- postponed from Wednesday to Friday because of the ice storm -- ran afoul of Indiana's Open Door Law.
