Gravel mine in Yellowstone County approved for 15 acre expansion new plant

State environmental regulators have approved a proposal to more than double the size of a gravel mine near the southeastern Montana community of Lockwood. May 12, 2011 Emerald Hills Development of Laurel had applied to increase its mine to almost 25 acres. The Department of Environmental Quality's May 9 approval also allows for an asphalt plant, gravel crusher and other machinery.
