Idaho County officials reject land swap between feds timber company as disastrous for economy

Commissioners in Idaho County have written a letter to the U.S. Forest Service rejecting the agency's proposed land exchange with a timber company, contending it would be disastrous for the county. March 11, 2011 Commissioners contend that putting about 40,000 acres of private land into public ownership would result in a $28.3 million annual loss from economic activity and hundreds of fewer jobs.
