NYC acquiring 1775 acres in upstate NY for watershed protection

New York City officials say they have protected another 1,775 acres of land in their upstate watershed through purchases and conservation easements. April 13, 2011 Environmental Protection Commissioner Cas Holloway says the city spent $7 million for 21 properties located in Delaware, Greene, Putnam, Schoharie, Sullivan and Ulster counties. The properties range in size from 2.7 acres to 213 acres.
