City Council approves land sale to shelter, incentives for Younkers redevelopment

A proposal to sell excess public land for $507,860 to Central Iowa Shelter & Services was approved 7-0 at Monday’s Des Moines City Council meeting. October 25, 2010 Shelter officials have raised $9 million for a facility that will be constructed just south of the agency’s current location at 205 15th St.
