Clinton sells industrial dock, 30 acres for $6.37 million

The Clinton City Council has decided to sell the city's industrial dock facility to the company that has been leasing it, as a way to provide an infusion of cash to the city. AARTCO, a subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland Co., offered $6.376 million to purchase the barge-loading facility and about 30 acres of land. The council spent nearly 90 minutes Tuesday hearing from the public and discussing the issue, including listening to an outside consultant who was hired to review the cost and pros and cons of selling.
