Conservation Board plans to buy land near Sutliff

The Johnson County Conservation Board has plans to purchase a property containing one of the most diverse ecosystems in the state of Iowa, county Conservation Board director Harry Graves said Graves described the 82-acre property near Sutliff as an "ecological gem." March 04, 2011 The county plans to purchase the property -- the purchase price is $283,000 -- using money from the $20 million conservation bond passed by voters in 2009. The Conservation Board is seeking grants to help cover a portion of the purchase, Graves said
