Five Ridge Prairie grows with large land acquisition

A land purchase will expand a western Plymouth County Loess Hills preserve by more than 150 acres and help sustain dozens of species of wildlife and native plants. The new 156.5 acres to be added to Five Ridge Prairie State Preserve, southeast of Westfield, will offer the public opportunities for everything from hiking and nature photography to public hunting in the spring, fall and winter, according to Plymouth County Conservation Director Dennis Sohl.
