Iowa land prices on a rocket ride

Excitement and curiosity could be felt in the air as more than 70 people gathered for a public farmland auction Thursday afternoon at the Rockwell Community Center. Farmers and retired farmers, bankers and investors discussed land values, commodity prices and of course how much the 160-acre Rockwell farm, owned by John Daum, Los Angeles, would bring at the public auction set to begin at 2 p.m.
