Members of the county Solid Waste Management Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to buy approximately 138 acres of farm land for $1,932,000 from Russell and Ann Folkers.

"This is a good deal for the residents of Black Hawk County," said commission administrator Brett Vette, giving the landfill plenty of room for future expansion.
