Farm Values, Cash Rents Jump, Purdue Report Says

A Purdue University survey shows that Indiana farmland values and cash rents in Indiana have increased considerably after a year in decline. According to the "Farmland Values and Cash Rent Survey," released Tuesday, the value of farmland had increased by 4.5 percent to 6.3 percent in June 2010, when compared to the same time in 2009. August 18, 2010 Cash rents also increased statewide. Depending on the quality of the farmland, cash rents increased 2 percent to 2.5 percent statewide, when compared to June 2009 levels.
