Fund to grant 2340 acres to refuge

A national conservation organization has announced plans to transfer more than 2,300 acres of recently purchased farm and timberland to the Upper Ouachita National Wildlife Refuge in Morehouse Parish. December 23, 2010 The Conservation Fund, a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and sustaining natural habitats, bought 2,340 acres of land adjacent to the refuge with plans to restore approximately 2,600 acres with hardwood trees before transferring the land to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
