Maines Mud Pond and 241 acres donated to bird society

A Maine birding watching club is expanding the size of a preserve in the Mud Pond area of Monmouth by 241 acres. July 12, 2011 The Stanton Bird Club of Lewiston is receiving the land from the Central Maine Power Company. The company plan to transfer more than 4,600-acres of wetlands and other property as part of its $1.4 billion transmission system upgrade.
