The town and the trustees this week purchased 63 acres of the farm, to be known as the Whitney Conservation Area. The land will be owned and managed by the town, and Sudbury Valley Trustees will hold a permanent conservation restriction on the property. An additional 34 acres was protected through the purchase of a second conservation restriction, to be held jointly by the town and the trustees. This portion of the property will continue to be owned privately and to be run as a community-supported agriculture farm.
